Why This Matters

Struggling With Addiction or Mental Health? You Are Not Broken.

Too many people in Western Massachusetts suffer in silence because they do not know where to turn, or they fear judgment. Here is what that silence costs:

Relationships Deteriorate

Untreated substance use and mental health conditions fracture families. Partners, children, and friends bear the burden of watching someone they love struggle without help.

Health Worsens Quietly

Substance use and untreated depression or anxiety compound over time. What starts as manageable becomes a medical crisis — and the longer you wait, the harder recovery becomes.

Financial Strain Builds

Lost workdays, emergency room visits, and the hidden costs of self-medicating add up fast. Proactive treatment costs a fraction of crisis care.

Rural Access Barriers

Living in the Hilltowns means fewer providers, longer drives, and less anonymity. Many people avoid seeking help because the closest facility feels too far or too public.

Absolutely. All behavioral health and substance use services are 100% confidential. Your records are protected by federal and state privacy laws, and your information is never shared without your explicit written consent.
What if I cannot afford treatment?
HCHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center, which means we serve all patients regardless of ability to pay. We accept most insurance including MassHealth and Tricare, and offer sliding scale discounts based on income for uninsured and underinsured patients.
Do you offer detox or medication-assisted treatment?
HCHC provides behavioral health counseling and substance use assessment. For detox and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), we will connect you directly to specialized providers in the region so you get the right level of care without delay.
How quickly can I be seen?
We work to get you in as soon as possible. Many patients are seen within a few days of their first call. In urgent situations, our team can help triage and connect you to immediate resources including the state substance use helpline.
Which location should I visit?
HCHC operates five locations across the Hilltowns and Pioneer Valley: Huntington Health Center, John P. Musante Health Center, Worthington Health Center, and the Gateway RSD School-Based Health Center. Call us and we will help you find the most convenient location for your needs.
